NOTE: The variables used in this table from the IPEDS Institutional Characteristics file are FIPS, PSET4FLG, SECTOR. This table includes only Title IV, postsecondary institutions (PSET4FLG EQ 1 [EQ 1 or 3, after 2008] and 1 GE SECTOR LE 9) that are located in the United States (FIPS LT 57). Title IV institutions are those with a written agreement with the Secretary of Education that allows the institutions to participate in any of the Title IV federal student financial assistance programs. The variables used in this table from the IPEDS Completions file are CIPCODE, AWLEVEL, MAJORNUM (EQ 1) and CTOTALT. Data for a given year combine that year's Institutional Characteristics survey data (e.g., 2000-2001) with completions reported for the prior year (e.g., 1999-2000). "Certificates of one year or more" includes all certificates that are at least one year, but less than four years, in length.
