The Teacher Follow-up Survey (TFS) was sent the year following the SASS to a subsample of teachers who responded to the SASS Teacher Questionnaire. One version of the questionnaire was for continuing teachers and another version was for teachers who had left the teaching profession. In addition to items about employment, teaching status and possible sources of dissatisfaction with teaching as a profession, the questionnaires asked about family size and income. Data derived from the TFS allow for comparative analysis of public and private school teacher job satisfaction and movement within and out of the teaching profession.
