Better decisions require better information. This principle lies at the heart of the Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) Grant Program. Through grants and a growing range of services and resources, the program has helped propel the successful design, development, implementation, and expansion of K12 and P-20W (early learning through the workforce) longitudinal data systems. The National Center for Education Statistics is pleased to announce the award of FY 2015 Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) Grant Program funding to 16 states:
The State projects, which focus on data use to inform policy and practice, average $6.5 million in funding. We look forward to working with these States as they develop increased capacity for data use at the State and local levels. We also look forward to sharing lessons learned by these States with the entire SLDS community.
