NASDTEC Manual/KnowledgeBase

The National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) was organized in 1928 to represent professional standards boards and commissions and state departments of education that are responsible for the preparation, licensure, and discipline of educational personnel. Currently, NASDTEC's membership includes all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity, U.S. jurisdictions, and Canadian provinces and territories. The NASDTEC Manual on the Preparation & Certification of Educational Personnel (NASDTEC Manual) was printed between 1984 and 2004, when it was replaced by an online publication, KnowledgeBase. This is an expanded version of the Manual and is the most comprehensive source of state-by-state information pertaining to the certification requirements and preparation of teachers and other school personnel in the United States and Canada.
