Size of Gaps Between Percentages of White and Black Students Scoring At or Above Each Point on the U.S. History Scale, Grade 4: 1994 and 2001

Major Findings

• In 1994, there was a 39 point gap between the percentages of White and Black students who were at or above Basic.
• In 2001, the gap between the percentage of White and Black students at or above Basic was 35 percentage points.
