NAEP Technical DocumentationResponse Rates of Eighth-Grade School Sample by Participating Jurisdiction for the 2007 State Assessment

The following table presents unweighted counts for sampled eligible schools and unweighted and weighted response rates for eighth grade.

States with Trial Urban District Assessment (TUDA) districts are shown in multiple rows: for the TUDA district(s) and for the state as a whole (the TUDA district(s) plus the rest of the state). The weighted response rates use the student enrollment from the sample frame divided by the school probability of selection. The weighted aggregation for the eligible schools for each jurisdiction is an estimate of the total population of students in the grade within each jurisdiction.

Participation is required under the No Child Left Behind Act for all states and districts, but not for Bureau of Indian Education or Department of Defense schools.
