			Questionnaires Over the Internet Demographic Information Via File Transfers

Following its introduction in the 2001 assessment, NAEP has offered electronic versions of its teacher questionnaires, school questionnaires, and administration schedules that can be submitted over the Internet. Traditional print versions of these documents will continue to be available as well. In addition, student demographic data can be sent through file transfers from schools to the NAEP data collection contractor, or they can be key entered by the data collection contractor. During the 2001 assessment, the NAEP materials contractor and the data collection contractor compared administration schedule data captured electronically with data from the print versions. A discrepancy report was created to monitor the differences between the two methods of data capture. This quality assurance step is now taken in every assessment.
