Instruments for the 2005 Mathematics Assessment

For the 2005 assessment, NAEP instrument developers created 10 blocks of items at each grade—8 blocks using items from the 2003 assessment and 2 blocks of new items developed for the 2005 assessment. Two blocks at grade 4, three blocks at grade 8, and three blocks at grade 12 were released and are available to the public via the NAEP Questions Tool.

The tables below display the NAEP 2005 mathematics assessment student booklet configurations for grade 4 and grade 8.
