NAEP Technical DocumentationStudent Booklets for the 2002 Reading Assessment

In 2002, instrument developers chose 26 blocks from the 2000 assessment—7 at the fourth-grade level, 9 at the eighth-grade level, and 10 at the twelfth-grade level. In addition, they created one new block at each grade level. Three blocks were released to the public (one at each grade) and can be viewed on the NAEP Questions Tool.

The tables below display the NAEP 2002 reading assessment student booklet configurations for grade 4, grade 8, and grade 12 .
