Community/Government Service: Assisting your community is a great way to make a difference while you test out areas that interest you.

• Learn more about public service and match your interests to groups in your area at United We Serve.

Internships/Apprenticeships: Internships help you explore your interest in different fields by letting you take a job in a company or organization for a limited period of time, often with a mentor to show you the ropes. Some are paid; some are not, but all give you experience in the working world.

• Check with your school's guidance counselor, local newspapers, or Career Voyages to find opportunities near you in fields you might enjoy.

College: A two- or four-year college give you access to experts in many fields of knowledge and the time to explore any and all fields that interest you.
