Major Findings

  • Fourth-graders whose teachers reported having students work together on science activities daily or weekly had higher average scores than those who did so less frequently.
  • Eighth-graders whose teachers reported having students work together on science activities weekly had higher average scores than students whose teachers had them do so daily, monthly, or never/hardly ever.
