NOTE: The gaps were calculated by subtracting the unrounded average score of Black or Hispanic students from that of White students.
Results are based on administration procedures that did not permit accommodations.

Major Findings

  • At all three grades in 2000, White students had higher scores, on average, than Black or Hispanic students.
  • The large gaps between subgroups' performance have remained relatively unchanged since 1996.
