More About NAEP

NAEP, or the National Assessment of Educational Progress, is the only assessment that allows you to compare the performance of students in one state with that of another or with the entire nation. Because of this, it is often called the "Nation's Report Card," and is an important tool for parents, teachers, policymakers, researchers and others working to provide quality education for all students.

NAEP has a rich history, and it provides information that is essential for improving schools. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, NAEP has been administered since 1969. The results are widely reported by the national and local media.

NAEP enjoys a strong reputation among educators as a fair and accurate measure of students' progress. It is developed by the nation's leading assessment experts in a process that involves consulting with parents, teachers, and educators at all levels. The review process for the assessment is considered rigorous and fair.

NAEP is an important measure of student achievement that can help ensure our children are receiving the best education possible. Parents or guardians, educators, and policymakers can learn a lot from the results of NAEP assessments, which will help them to make decisions about education.
