State Results for the NAEP 2000 Mathematics Assessment
The NAEP 2000 mathematics assessment was administered to representative samples of fourth- and eighth-graders in participating states and other jurisdictions. NAEP began state-by-state assessments in 1990 with eighth-graders and in 1992 with fourth-graders. In 2000, 46 states and other jurisdictions at grade 4, and 44 at grade 8, participated in the mathematics assessment and met student and school participation criteria for reporting results.
