You begin to explore the large collection of NAEP assessment questions by using the search selection screen. It is best to follow the steps in the indicated order.
Any time that you see the Information symbol, you can click it to get specific information about that category.
Step 1 is to select an assessment type: Main ... or Long-Term Trend.
Depending upon your selection, basic criteria options will update to appropriate choices.
Next, choose a subject ... and one or more grades.
The years panel updates based upon your selection of subject and grade. Only years when assessments were actually conducted will be enabled. Select one or more years from available choices.
After making Basic Criteria choices, the Advanced Criteria panel will update with appropriate choices you can make to further narrow your search.
Click the plus symbols to expand the list nodes.
You can narrow your search by selecting only one or a few options.
If you want to start the steps over, click the Reset button.
Otherwise, if you are happy with your choices on the search selection screen, click the Show Results button to proceed.
If you decide that you want to modify your search criteria, click the Modify Search link. You are returned to the search selection screen, which remembers your previous choices. You can make changes and click Show Results once again.
