Since 1982, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has conducted high school transcript studies as part of the longitudinal studies and National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) programs. Each transcript study is associated with a major NCES data collection, such as NAEP, HS&B, and NELS:88.
