Appendix C: Resources

The following links may offer additional context for understanding the HSTS data and the tables in this report.

Since 1982, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has conducted high school transcript studies as part of the longitudinal studies and National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) programs. Each transcript study is associated with a major NCES data collection, such as NAEP, HS&B, and NELS:88.

Publications from previous NAEP HSTS studies are also available on this website. For more technical information about 2000 HSTS, refer to The 2000 High School Transcript Study User's Guide and Technical Report (NCES 2005-483).

The 2000 High School Transcript Study Restricted-Use Data File, which contains the raw data from the study for secondary analyses, is available for holders of restricted data licenses.
