# Percentage is between 0.0 and 0.5.
SD = Students with Disabilities.
LEP = Limited English Proficient students.
NOTE: Within each grade level, the combined SD/LEP portion of the table is not a sum of the separate SD and LEP portions because some students were identified as both SD and LEP. Such students would be counted separately in the bottom portions, but counted only once in the top portion.
Within each portion of the table, percentages may not sum properly due to rounding.

Major Finding

  • In the 2001 accommodations-permitted national sample, 4 percent at grades 4 and 8, and 2 percent at grade 12 were excluded from the assessment. The comparison with the accommodations-not-permitted sample suggests that adding accommodations did help to decrease the percentage of students excluded from the assessment.
