Search for and View Selected Variables

To search for a variable,  

1. • Type a term in the open Search box and select Go to find variables by keywords in the question and in the details for the variable. If you use multiple keywords, “and” is assumed. Also narrow your search using or, not, and not, or near. The search function operates on an exact phrase if it is contained in quotes.

   • The variables that include the search term(s) in the question or its details will be listed. To return to the variables listed by category from the search results list, click the View All tab.

To view selected variables,

1. • Click the checkbox next to a variable to select it for your report. You will see the count increase next to View Selected. Click this tab to see the variables you have chosen.

   • To return to the variables listed by category from the selected variables list, click the View All tab.

When you have selected the variables you want to include, continue by clicking the Edit Reports button at the bottom of the page, or use the tab at the top to go to the next screen.
