There are three items in This Week in IPEDS:
NCES has posted information relating to proposed changes to IPEDS for 2009-10 and beyond:
A required official announcement regarding proposed changes to IPEDS was recently posted in the Federal Register. In order to comply with the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) legislation, IPEDS must implement additional revisions to the data collection in the 2009-10 collection year. In addition to the HEOA changes, NCES has proposed additional changes aimed at reducing burden for nondegree-granting institutions. A summary of these changes is located at: http://nces.ed.gov/IPEDS/news_room/ana_3_19_2009.asp
Experienced Keyholders and Data Users Needed to Become IPEDS Instructors:
The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is looking for experienced keyholders and data users to become instructors to provide IPEDS training. Please go to http://www.airweb.org/?page=1904 to read about this opportunity. There’s a link at the bottom of the page to an application. Send your completed application as an attachment in Word or PDF to Gail Fishman (email@example.com) by April 20, 2009. All applications will be reviewed and notifications of acceptance into the IPEDS instructor program will be sent by May 5. Feel free to share this information with your colleagues.
