IPEDS Institutional Characteristics (fr_IPEDS_InstitutionalCharacteristics)

Description

Data collected by the institutional characteristics survey provide general information about the institution. The data reported include: institution address, telephone number, and website; educational offerings and mission statements; control/affiliation, award levels, and calendar system; admissions requirements; and student charges, including tuition and required fees and room and board charges for institutions with first-time, full-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduate students.


Data Set Items

    Academic Year Code - The academic year identified for reporting price of attendance charges.

    ACT Scores Submitted Count - The number of enrolled first-time, degree/certificate-seeking undergraduate students who submitted ACT scores to the institution for the selected reporting period.


ACT Scores Submitted Percent - The percentage of enrolled first-time, degree/certificate-seeking undergraduate students who submitted ACT scores to the institution for the selected reporting period.


Admission Consideration Option - The institution admission considerations reference use of data in admission policies for entering first-time undergraduate students.

Typical Room Charge Amount - The typical room charges for the academic year for rooming accomodations for a student sharing a room with one other student.


Undergraduate Application Fee Amount - The amount of money that the institution charges for processing an undergraduate student's application for admittance to the institution.


Undergraduate Students Residency Type - A code to identify residency types (in-district, in-state, or out-of-state) associated with undergraduate student charges.

Years of College-level Work Required for Entry - An indication of the number of years of study required for entry to the institution, for institutions which limit entrance to students who have completed certain academic requirements.
