Citizenship Status (citizenshipStatus)


The description that best identifies the status of an individual's citizenship and/or residency in the United States.

Code Set:
    Dual national - An individual who is a citizen of one or more countries in addition to the United States
    Non-resident alien - An individual who has been admitted temporarily to the United States as a non-immigrant, but is not a citizen, including those granted student visas solely for the purpose of study (e.g., alien students).
    Other - N/A
    Resident alien - An individual who has been admitted to the United States for permanent residency, but is not a citizen of the United States.
    United States Citizen - An individual who is a citizen of only the United States regardless of how this status was acquired.
