Implementation of Sufficient Magnitude of Gain and Other Statistical Models within U-PASS (Utah Performance and Assessment System for Students)
This project is a continuation of earlier work by the Utah State Office of Education (USOE) to develop a data warehouse, which is the sole source of data supplying the Utah Performance Assessment System for Students (U-PASS). The primary type of indicator needed for U-PASS is a measure of Sufficient Magnitude of Gain which is actually a set of several school variables integrated to determine, for each school, whether or not it has met established state performance standards. Task order funding would help the USOE do just this, working to develop and validate a complex statistical model, and representing an educational indicator system for the state of Utah.
The project had three major objectives:
Work on this project was scheduled to begin in January 2002.
