Automating Common Core of Data Report Generation

The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) received task order funding to create a completely automated CCD extraction tool. In addition to developing the extraction tool to compile the data, the data will be assembled into a Data Mart, which would provide access to the data through a versatile Reporting Tool designed for the generation of CCD reports. This data tool would work well with the data system already developed in the Student Accountability Information System, which includes a central database for all Arizona K-12 school districts and charter schools.

The major activities to be carried out under this project include:

  • Initial analysis (application requirements, report requirements gathering, identification of data sources, data mapping, creation of test scenarios)
  • Application development (application framework, data mart design, data extraction, transformation, load process development, development of code for unit tests, and report output development)
  • Application testing (load process testing, error resolution)
  • Deployment (load data mart)
  • System documentation (technical documentation, user documentation)
