Common Core of Data (CCD)

Nonfiscal and Fiscal State Awards Criteria

Nonfiscal Award Criteria

Following, are the four criteria used for the 2009-10 awards:

  1. Submit all 09-10 data groups that comprise CCD (directory, grades offered, FRL, LEP, membership, staff, and CCD school) by April 30th.
  2. Submit all 09-10 data groups that comprise CCD (directory, grades offered, FRL, LEP, membership, staff, and CCD school) by May 31st.
  3. Submit 08-09 data (including dropout/completer data) that is of good quality—the number of missing items not to exceed 1 or 2.
  4. Work cooperatively with Census to provide necessary corrected data.

States that met all four criteria received a golden award and states that met three criteria received a silver award. The state that most improved their data reporting and worked diligently with EDFacts received a “most improved” award.

Fiscal Award Criteria

NPEFS 2008-09 awards are based on:

  1. when the data, data plan and official signature are received;
  2. the number of resubmissions; and
  3. the time it takes to receive responses to inquiries from our edits. States may submit as late as May 17 (with no resubmissions and no edit inquiries needed) and still receive an award.

F-33 2007-08 awards are based on:

  1. when the complete data are received;
  2. the number of resubmissions; and
  3. the time it takes to receive responses to inquiries from our edits. States must submit data by 8-1/2 months from the close of the fiscal year in order to receive an award. For most states, this means states must report data by March 15 in order to receive an award.

TCS 2008-09 awards are based on:

  1. when the data file and data plan are received; and
  2. whether files need modification. States must submit a complete data file by July 12 in order to receive an award.

NOTE: Complete data files are those where records for all agencies covered by the survey are reported by the state, and where missing data items are noted as being missing, zero, or non-applicable.
