NCES 2014087 The Nation's Report Card: 2013 Mathematics and Reading Grade 12 Assessments
The 2013 Mathematics and Reading Grade 12 Assessments online report card presents results that address questions regarding the academic progress of the nation’s twelfth-graders. Trends in national average scores that show no significant changes in mathematics and reading from 2009 to 2013 and mixed results in comparison to the first assessment year for each subject can be explored in detail for student groups and selected states.

NCES 2014082 NAEP Mathematics 2013 Grade 12 State Snapshot Reports
Each jurisdiction that volunteered to participate in the NAEP 2013 grade 12 mathematics state pilot receives a one-page snapshot report that presents key findings and trends in a condensed format. The reports in this series present bulleted text describing overall student results, bar charts showing NAEP achievement levels for each year in which the state participated, and tables displaying results by race/ethnicity and gender. In addition, bulleted text describes the trends in average scale score gaps for race/ethnicity and gender. A map comparing the average score in 2013 to other states/jurisdictions is also displayed.

NCES 2014046 Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) U.S. Restricted Use File (RUF)
The PIAAC U.S. RUF contains individual unit record data including both responses to the background questionnaire and the cognitive assessment. Statistical disclosure control treatments were applied due to confidentiality concerns. In addition to the variables in the PUF (NCES 2014-045), the RUF contains detailed versions of variables and additional data collected through U.S. specific questionnaire routing. The RUF can be accessed through a restricted use license agreement with the National Center for Education Statistics. For more details on the RUF, please refer to Appendix J of the U.S. PIAAC Technical Report (NCES 2014-047).

Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) 2012: U.S. Main Study Technical Report is a technical manual that describes how these data were collected and processed as well as how to use the data files to conduct statistical analyses. Information is presented on meeting PIAAC consortium requirements, sample design, listing of dwelling units, data collection, reducing the risk of data disclosure, the need for conducting a nonresponse bias analysis, weighting and variance estimation, and data preparation and processing. The appendices of the Technical Report include background questionnaire adaptations, data collection reports, interviewer training reports, outreach materials, interviewer debriefing report, basic analysis tables, extended analysis tables, weighted item response rates, technical notes, and data user guidance.

NCES 2014391 Public High School Four-Year On-Time Graduation Rates and Event Dropout Rates: School Years 2010–11 and 2011–12
This report includes four-year on-time graduation rates and dropout rates for school years 2010-11 and 2011-12. A four-year on-time graduation rate provides measure of the percent of students that successfully complete high school in 4-years with a regular high school diploma. This report includes national and state-level Averaged Freshman Graduation Rates, which NCES has been producing for many years as an estimator for on-time graduation. New to this year’s report, NCES builds off the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education’s release of state-level Regulatory Adjusted Cohort Graduation Rate data required under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

NCES 2014025 Technical Report and User Guide for the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2012
The Technical Report and User Guide for the PISA 2012 is a technical manual that describes how the U.S. data were collected and processed as well as how to use the data files to conduct statistical analyses. Information is presented on sampling, response rates, school and student recruitment, instrument development and distribution, and data management. The appendices of the Technical Report and User Guide include school recruitment materials, student and parent materials, student and school questionnaires, and a nonresponse bias analysis of PISA 2012 U.S. data.

NCES 2014902 Out-of-Pocket Net Price for College
This Data Point uses data from four administrations of the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS:2000, NPSAS:04, NPSAS:08, and NPSAS:12) to briefly present trends in out-of-pocket net price for college, the amount that students and their families must pay to attend college after subtracting grants, loans, work-study, and all other student aid from the total price of attendance. It also presents out-of-pocket net price by income levels for the most recent data available (2011-12). For comparability, findings are presented for undergraduates attending full time for a full year and also trends are presented separately for key institution types (public 2-year, public 4-year, private nonprofit 4-year, and for-profit institutions).

The brochure introduces audiences to NAEP, outlines valuable resources they can use on their own, and details what makes NAEP the gold standard of assessments.
