State Public Elementary/Secondary Education Dropout and Completion Data: 1991-92 through 1996-97

The State Public Elementary/Secondary Education Survey Dropout Data and Completion File: School Years 1991-92 through 1996-97 is a new file that contains state dropout and completion data and rates for school years 1991-92 through 1996-97. Previous to the creation of this file, agency dropout and completion data were available on the Local Education Agency Universe Survey only. This new file separates the dropout and completion data into its own file and adds in three new variables to the file, dropout rates, high school four-year completion rates, and enrollment base. Thus, this new file is constructed from data collected through the Public Elementary/Secondary School Universe and Local Education Agency Universe Surveys.

The data in this state-level dropouts and completions file represent an aggregation of data from the Local Education Agency Universe files. Those district-level data are available in a separate file, the Local Education Agency (School District) Dropout and Completion Data file. They are made available here as data files for those researchers who wish to compile their own tables, or perform their own analysis.
